"I never realized how many shoesI don’t wear until I kept track of what shoes I wore within a week’s span. So out of about thirty-five pairs of sneakers, I ended up wearing about ten pairs. So why do I have twenty-five other pairs of sneakers? I can’t even tell you. It sure did make me think though. An average pair of sneakers cost roughly $70. Twenty-five times seventy equals one thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars. Let me write that out for you. $1750! What the fuck. That’s money I could of used for something I actually needed.

So what I ended up doing here was actually keep track of the shoes I wear most. In hopes that maybe I can get rid of a few unnecessary pairs of these shoes."

Part one: The point of this is to follow a certain aspect of my life that I felt was interesting. One part of my personal life that I found unique or appealing to focus this project on was my obsession with shoes. Within a week's time I kept track of the shoes I wore, how many times I wore them and what days of the week I wore them. After I jotted the data, I put together a poster (24"x36") and designed it in a way where the viewer would be able to figure out what the subject-matter was prior to reading the text.
Part two: The second portion of this project was to create a three-dimension interpretation of the poster. So my subject is about shoes, where do I take it from here? When you buy a pair of shoes, they come in a box, so there's my "canvas". As for my "paint" i wanted to take an element from the part one of the infographic project. The shoe laces, perfect.

I began to construct what I envisioned in my head. Step one, was to find the shoe box and paint it a flat color. Step two, drill these holes into the box in a grid-like manor. Step three, pick out a color lace for each subject in the infographic. Step three, lace the shoe laces into the box.

The amount of the color used for each shoe lace is determined by the amount I wore the certain shoe. Each time I tied the shoe into the box, determined the amount of times I wore the shoe.
